Joseph, the owner, and his staff excel in customer service and are talented stylists. I've never had a problem getting an appointment on the exact day and at the exact time I want here. Joe, the owner, is a gem. A true talent who is an expert in his vocation. I love the Keurig coffee and other small gestures that demonstrate excellent customer service with the client in mind. One of the first things I noticed when I walked in the door was how neat and clean their entire facility was coupled with staff who are energetic and passionate about what they do. It was obvious they really enjoyed working there. My hair looked so beautiful when I left. My stylist, Joe, is amazing and I can always go out right after my hair is done here. Oh by the way I drive 200 miles to get my hair done here! It is THAT good.

The owner Joseph was told that I had wavy North African-Meditteranian hair of more than 18 inches. Joseph boasted that he could do all hair types and that his charge was $20 or $25 maximum. I told him everything I needed and that was the price he quoted. I set the appointment in transparency and trust.

I got my hair done here, because it was the only Salon that was open and said "yes I can". When it was time to buy supplies he kept referring to people of color, ethnic skin tone, as "your people", and making statement such as "you know those people with that difficult hair". He knew my name because he wrote it in his appointment book but did not use it. He was excited to sell me over priced moraccan oil but never used my name.

I asked if did any other women with curly hair and would open to the international students at Saint Benedict College and he said "I am not interested, and don't do your people hair because I have my clients", "i'm here 18 years and I've never advertised there and don't want to start now.

Now considering I am spending my time and money you would think he would be concerned with my needs as a customer. I asked about products to buy and the follow up comments were "this is good for your people hair" as he avoided eye contact and figetted. I asked "what hair is that?" and the response was "you know you people, African American people"... "your people your hair is kinky and so difficult to comb."

Either he is a stylist or not. He is educated beyond high school if he graduated. Remember you don't have to go to college to get a cosmetology liscence and open a business in a farm town. His comments showed me that he has no respect or interest in people of color. We are simply another face to make money from. His own comment is that he is not interested in non-whites.

First of all I am a Latina with wavy hair, his ignorance and categorical dislike of all people of color and stereotypes was evident. Worse yet he over-charged and showed that he was a dishonest business man.

He quoted one price and justified another. When I asked for the bill he quoted he $95. This is a big change from $25 and I only had a wash, deep conditioner and blow dry. She could not blow dry my hair and I had to teach his daughter how to use a round brush.

Recognizing ignorance and theft when I see it, I would not engage the stereotypes of minorities being "brash". Instead of making a fuss I simply looked at him and asked for him to explain the costs. He said $95 was too high, "$75 is a better number". "It's $75 because you cost me a customer; your hair took 3 hours not 1 hour, and I had to reschedule my other client because of you. Next time you should be my last customer."

His mismanagement is a customer's responsibility? He presumes not to ask how long my hair would take and double book and blame the customer? He justifies hiking up the price 300%?

So not only is her racist, rude and unprofessional. He is a financial thief. Everyone in St. Cloud charges $18 to $20 for a wash and set or a wash and blow. I asked for 2 weeks and then 4 months. In California, DC and NYC, the most expensive place charges $45 and this idiot man charged $75. Remember this is a farming village where rent is as cheap at $500 for a two bedroom. Value is determined by relative cost of basic needs. He is dishonest and racist. If wellness wants a picture of the receipt just e-mail me.

If your ready to support a racist you can spend your money here. If your ready to support a crook you can spend your money hair. My white class-mates who are friends of all people, refused to take me back there based on how I was treated. I chose instead to wash my hair in the twin cities. If your a person with any sense of justice against racist old white men, do not go here.

When comparing them to others in their field, I would say they are by far the worst I have ever seen. I will never return. While I was there, I was hoping they would be able to answer a few questions that I had. They were able to answer a couple, but most of them they didn't. They didn't give me advice that would benefit me at all. They only cared about what would make them the most money. The staff didn't go out of their way to help me. They weren't rude, but they definitely weren't friendly either. I felt very rushed. They barely spent two minutes with me and almost completely ignored me.
