I decided to give the salon at Trade Secret a try because I don't have a local Salem Salon and (I thought) what I was asking for was not very complicated -- just all over color, a shade or two lighter than my current color. I made an appointment with Theresa despite not being very impressed with her demeanor. I wish I had listened to my instincts. She starts by telling me she is going to use double the developer so it will deposit color at the same time. She's the expert (so I think), so I agree. The result is that my roots (the unprocessed hair) are significantly lighter than the swatch I pointed to, but the remainder of my hair is just as dark. She calls a collegue to look at it (trust me, there was no need for a second opinion...it is NOT what I asked for). The other employee gives her advice on how to fix it -- this time using cream bleach. I should have left the salon at this point, but decided to give her the chance to fix it. BIG mistake. After several more hours at the salon (I was there for 4.5 hours), my hair is completely uneven in color, orangey with patches of dark brown. To make it even worse, Theresa did not even apologize. Her response when showing her how many shades lighter the back of my hair is than the front of my hair is to tell me that "she processed it for the same amount of time." Well...that's not quite true, considering how long it takes her to apply product...by the time she is done, the first strands have had color for 35-30 minutes!!!! I couldn't be more unhappy with the result. Now I have to pay someone who knows how much money to fix it. AVOID THE TRADE SECRET SALON AT ALL COSTS!!!!!
