Training
He attended his Podiatric medical training for four in San Francisco. After completion of his podiatric medical degree he performed a three year extensive residency training at Botsford General Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan affiliated with Michigan State University. While there he had the opportunity to spend time training at the National Children’s Medical Center in Washington D.C. Here he was trained in many pediatric and developmental conditions. He also was part of the Baja Crippled Children’s project and participated in medical care rendered to the children of Honduras. He was also trained in the Ponsetti technique of club foot treatment.
Dr. Pilling was extensively trained in the current treatments of foot and ankle problems.

Certification
During his final year of training, Dr. Pilling was granted the prestigious honor of a fellowship at the internationally renowned Ilizarov, Institute in Kurgan, Russia where, as one of only two residents from the USA, he was trained in advanced techniques of repairing bone injuries and complex deformities of the lower extremity and foot.
