I had a spouse in short-term rehab here and was not impressed with the staff. They were often not helpful and did not seem to know what was going on with my spouse’s care. Their communication with each other was not good because they did not talk to each other. When they tried to explain things to me, they were in a rush and did not explain things clearly, but they used their own medical terminology. I often could not get a straight answer to a question, but just got the runaround. I actually had one staff person tell me that they did not care what happened to my spouse after going home because they just needed to get paid now, and all they wanted was money.
My mom was a patient there for 3 months it was awful the staff was very rude and they treated her terrible. She had to wait for hours for the staff to help her. The food was always cold and it was terrible. A patient in the room next to her was smoking and almost caught the place on fire and some of the residents there were allowed to sleep with other patients. Also residents were allowed to lay around naked in there rooms with the curtains open and the door open. My mom had to endure alot of awful stuff while she stayed there. I would never put a family member of my in this facility it is one of the worse places in Winston-Salem. I think if my mom would have stayed a day longer she would have been hurt or maybe would have died. Please don't ever put a love one in a place and never check on them because bad things happen and you will never know it unless you visit them everyday to check on them. This place needs to be shout down.
