My aunt been here 2 or 3 different times and the staff was wonderful. The front office staff was very helpful in understanding the process of admissions and the extended stay of my aunt. When she able to go home, they help with all the planing for her future medical needs while at home. If my aunt needs to return to a nursing home, Sherwood would my first options.

We had to have my dad admitted to Sherwood for some physical therapy after having a mini stroke. Doctors had said that it would be only a couple weeks. After 2 1/2 weeks, they told me that he would still be here a few more weeks, he had developed an open wound on the back of his heel and until his wound is completely healed he can not leave. He started retaining fluid and the doctors were trying to adjust his medication to take the fluid off more rapidly. As a result during the night, he had to be taken to the restroom pretty much every 45 minutes to an hour. At 3:30 in the morning the aid, was very frustrated with him by then and helped him to the restroom and told him "You just make me so angry" and she SLAPPED him. The police were called in and there was an investigation done, they were both interviewed. Pretty much it is his word against hers. So do your homework and check reviews on these homes before making a decision on where to place your parents. You DO NOT want your mom or dad going through anything like my dad did.
