I am currently a short-term resident for Physical Rehabilitation. I find several attributes about the facility to be well appointed and most of the staff to be friendly and competent. I do agree with the one review, they are under staffed. Which leads me to my biggest concern for those who are residents here, myself included.

In the event of a fire, each room has two (2) means of egress; or have had them available, one being the rooms’ door to the hallway and the second being an operational window. Management has chosen to install Window Stops restricting the window from opening any more than six inches. Try squeezing through that, to escape fire or smoke filling the halls. The stops are simply installed with only two screws but do their job.

I met with the Executive Director; will remain nameless, of the facility to express my concern about deliberately blocking the second means of egress, in the event of a fire, for patients in their rooms. With what I would characterize as an authoritative, condescending attitude toward my questioning the stops installed in the window . . .

She had no concern for allowing the available second means of egress through the operational windows, in the rooms and it was Not to be permitted. Stating “I could have the windows cemented totally shut if I wanted.”
I see a serious safety hazard along with an unapologetic, condescending Executive Director. If you see something, say something. I value my safety. Consider yours.

They would never do that! Their full attention is always on me.
