I found the staff to be accomodating and pleasant.........however, the care provided to my mother lacked understanding of her needs and consisted of much neglect. On three occasions I was present at meal time. Two of these times the meals were served in the cafeteria, and one in bed. Only once was the meal partially eaten. When served the meal in bed she was not provided utensils until I told the nurse (this was 45 minutes after the meal was served). She then provided utensils and reheated the meal. Her hygenic conditions were poor and her nails were not cut or even clean until I brought it to the attention of the nurse who did have someone immediately clip her nails. I arranged to have her hair done through this facility and they failed to have that arrangement made. They apologized as there was no exuse. I called on two occasions and asked to speak to my mothers nurse. When the nurse got on the line she confirmed that she was the attending nurse. When I asked how she was doing the nurses in both instances could not tell me how she was doing. They would need to refer to her chart. Once they suggested that I speak to the Director (I believe, director of nursing). He called me and tried to tell me that my mother was eating properly and provided special attention due to her condition. When I picked up her belongings, Items I just purchased for her could not be found. Three days prior to her death they called me and told me she had a temperature and they would be performing tests. A different nurse called me the next morning and told me that they had to perform tests. I told this nurse that I was advised of this the previous evening and asked her about my mothers temperature. This nurse said that she had no temperature. Later this day I was advised by the director that medication had been prescribed. I believe it was just two days later that I was advised of her death. She had only been here a couple weeks and now she's gone. All I can say is that I now know she's in a better place.

Yes! They took a personal call right in front of me. I found it to be incredibly rude.
