I don't normally write reviews but I wouldn't want anyone to think this place is all they say it is when you go for the initial visit. I would never recommend this place to anyone! It smells like a urinal everytime you walk in the door, they are always short on staff and 80% of the patients are sleeping in wheelchairs in the lobby and hallways. It is NASTY. I've been there when it's taken up to 3 hours for an aide to come and check to see why her light was on. As I said they are always saying they are short handed. My daughter could not walk by herself due to a knee injury so when she asked to be taken to the restroom they never had enough help to take her. So she would have to sit in soiled diapers for hours. I know this for a fact because I was there. It's ridiculous! The food is a joke - sometimes she would get a hot dog for dinner. The staff is not helpful and much more important they do not care and will tell you anything to get you to commit to their facility. On the initial visit we were told they would take the patient to the doctor and have someone go with them when in reality they call a transport company and it is the family's responsibility to go with them. One time they forgot to have transport pick her up and the doctor had to stay after hours with her until someone got there. The social worker is no help at all ...... first of all she waited until a week before my daughter had to leave to let us know and then she waited until the last day to let us know she could not find a facility that would take her after calling all of 2 places. They just don't care. I can't stress enough that you do not want to leave anyone you love in this place.
Mom is a patient there now. Not sure quite yet, but have noticed detachment of employees from genuinely caring for residents and being cordial to visiting family members concerns me. Also have statements from mom that during the night she has not gotten needed or requested medicines, sometimes without any response from staff at all.
