In May, 2012, I was looking for a facility in which to place my mother. She only had six or seven months of funds left. I first called two group homes to see if they would accept Medi-Cal payments once her funds ran out, but they did not. I then called Ave Maria, because I had heard it had a good reputation. The former executive director told me they would be certified for Medi-Cal before the end of 2012. They never made good on their promise. It was a nightmare. Discharge proceeding, lawsuit, bankruptcy. . .Don't trust what this place tells you.
