Outright Abuse
Recently while visiting my uncle at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center I observed something VERY troubling to me. What I overheard was purely accidental, although that is clearly not the issue.
There were Senior Medical Staff Interns performing what would be comparable to hazing that some colleges might have. As most people know a “hazing” is a humiliating and often very cruel and pointless deed. It is a basic not necessary nor is it humane.
As an instructor at a highly acclaimed University I can assure you that this is the very thing that can and often times will cause some undergrads to ‘snap’ or commit a violent act, as they have been badly mistreated on a routine basis.
There is nothing funny about an Intern Physician or in this case a group of them attempting to break the will or cause an emotional breakdown or hardship of their underclass physicians on staff.
It was nothing short of disgusting and those who would be so cruel to commit such abuse or allow it to be committed are in fact acting in a criminal way.
A further look into this I find that (Dr) Intern Farideh Zonozadeh, who is apparently a foreign student now “serving” our public, is one of such people. Not only did I witness this man’s part in this hazing practice, his obvious enjoyment of it appeared quite morbid, indeed. It would seem as though these 2 or 3 year Interns are far off the mark of what we all would hope for in a hospital. Perhaps a hospital staff that functioned as a solid Team working together with the focal point being our loved ones or the patients at the hospital.
It would cause one to ponder if water boarding is being conducted among staff at the Wyckoff Heights Medical Center.
In any case, I am certain that such practices are not only illegal, immoral, unnecessary and would conflict with the main objective in this hospital or any professional setting.
I am astounded and repulsed by this and I will take further action on behalf of decency.

This went on for quite some time and the goal was apparent. “Make them cry!”. "Overwork them!", etc. It is completely astounding how any hospital or any business would knowingly allow such practices and or maintain the ability to function at a professional and useful level at all. It is certainly possible that the hospital was unaware of such goings on. Regardless, I was very happy to have my family member taken elsewhere and I can say that though I am certain there are some talented and mentally competent interns and staff, I would not recommend that a friends pet be treated in this troubled facility until such idiocy has been corrected. Shameful.
