Sciatica is a symptom where the Sciatic Nerve is impinged causing pain in the low back that, if bad enough, can cause pain to flow down through the outsides of ones thighs and lower.
Sometimes the sciatic nerve can be compressed by a muscles in the gluteal region that are pressing against it.
