Today I was "Terminated as a patient" by Dr. Sanjukta Mitra. She told me that she won't fill my prescription without coming in every three months to her office. I use the same inhaler for years for my asthma. A few months ago I was at Walgreens while they called her office. She declined to refill my prescript-(Advair) and told them that I have to come into her office for the refill. "RED FLAG".
This time I ran out of my inhaler 2 weeks ago and she declined to approve a refill without coming in for an appointment per her assistant. I had to use my rescue inhaler until I was able to come in.
I tried calling and their office don't have an option to leave a message. How unfortunate for me as a patient with not enough time to keep trying to reach them and unable to get a person. Finally they called and said I miissed my appointment at 5:30pm Seriously are they trying to get patients or send them looking for another office where they can at least leave a message if nobody can pick up the phone.
I asked for a 90 day prescript for asthma inhaler today. She filled it for 2 and said I need to find another doctor that I would be happy with.
Her response today was to “terminate her service as a doctor with me as a patient, since I don’t agree with her service practices".. Remember I can’t ask for a refill without coming in for an appointment. Today I had to fill out 3 pages of a questionnaires on "sleep“ plus the one with asthma prior to seeing her. How frustrating I felt to have a doctor take advantage of making unnecessary appointments and costing extra money for me and my insurance company for unwanted reason every three months.
