Hello My Name is Bettie, I know that Dr.Skidmore is a great person to be under his care. I received back surgery in 2005 and Dr. S really eased my nerves to get the surgery. I was really afraid the first time in fact I left the hospital without the surgery but Dr.S called and met with me several times before, allowing the second schedule time for the surgery. Dr.S. performed the surgery and I came home in a couple of days.I was over the top afraid never had surgery in my life. I was in pain but his office monitored me in this difficult. I am walking a lot better and some pain continues a time but nothing like it was at first. I recommend if you are hurting please call the number and see Dr.S.

I really liked Dr. Skidmore the first time I met him and I felt very safe considering his reputation and under his confident care ... that is, until after surgery. He did not jump at doing surgery, but it did become imminent. I had a lumbar fusion done, and I am still dealing with a difficult recovery. Instead of approaching this with the same problem-solving approach he did before surgery, he instead seems impatient and frustrated with me. He has little in the way of empathy.
Other information: Wait time is ridiculous - upwards of 3 hours; staff in norfolk are rude and extremely uncaring.
