I want to preface this by saying although I believe Dr. Simon is an extremely capable doctor and practices good medicine, I was disappointed in how the visit was handled, especially when it came to communication. In my case, Dr. Simon was unable to make a diagnosis. He had a few differentials, but told me they really didn't make a difference and that this was just something I'd have to live with for the rest of my life (nothing could be done). Understandably, I had a few questions because I wanted to learn what I could about each of the possibilities, but Dr. Simon was very dismissive of these said questions. He ordered me a hearing test, but I wanted to know why - I already had one previously done, and if there was nothing I could do about my problem, then what would be the value of spending money on an audiology test? I had more questions about my possible diagnoses but before I could even get a word out, he opened the door, said "hey I gotta get to the next room," shook my hand, and left. I was left alone sitting in the chair and couldn't have felt more insignificant. I understand that clinics get busy, but I waited over three weeks for this appointment just to be left with more questions and a doctor that was too busy to try and answer them.
