Sacral Illiac Joint Pain

In older individuals, the sacral illiac joint (SIJ) may be the cause of back pain. Thge SIJ is the junction of the pelvis and the spine and is an area of wear and tear as one gets older. SIJ pain is commonly felt as pain in the hips, across the back and at the buttocks. SIJ pain can be treated by injections, ablation, or removal of the joint nerves, or fusing the sacral illiac joint.
