My son's girlfriend has waited 3 weeks in pain for an appointment. We literally had to restrain him from gong to Dr Young's office to ask what is wrong with them. The office manager accused her of wanting the appointment to get pain killers and said they would not have anything to do with that. What an outrageous claim and way of treating a patient whom they have never seen before. Her prior doctors were out of town (she moved here a few months ago). She was told if she was in so much pain that she should have gone to Baylor (quite a drive). The office manager said Dr Young had not had time to review her files so could not make appointment (now over 3 week). When she spoke to my wife about the way she was treated she was crying. This is a very responsible young lady with a management position in a loan office. We've known her for about a year now and can truly say that this inference/accusation as to an ulterior motive, without an appointment is most unprofessional, and cruel. She picked us her file today and already has an appointment with someone who has time for her. IMHO, Dr Young (who isn't - he's over 70), isn't interested in seeing new patients. He's probably more interested in a working retirement. If so, that is his biz and I don't care - but there's no excuse for it. On the other hand - perhaps he's fine and the problem is the person running the office.
