Dr.. Ali got me through a situational Depression related to my employer wanting to get rid of all long term highly paid employees. He was very supportive!
I began seeing Dr. Ali about 5 years ago. My last doctor was leaving private practice and recommended Dr. Ali as the better of the two doctors he believed would be best for my treatment-resistant depression. The transition to Dr. Ali was very smooth. He knew my history and has been very effective. I highly recommend him.
DETAILS:
Availability: I’m not sure for new patients. For me, if I need to see him sooner than my scheduled appointment, the availability varies, but they’ll put me on their cancellation list.
Communication: There are no language issues; talking to him is like talking to anyone else (except that he's more polite than most). He keeps eye contact and is engaged in our conversation. I feel comfortable asking questions. He recognizes me and has reviewed his notes from our last appointment. I’m not a number.
Wait time: 10-20 minutes (I am confident it’s for a good reason and that he respects my time.)
Appointment length: 10-20 minutes, but not rushed.
We discuss any changes in my mood, sleep, any side-effects, etc. If I feel it might be time to adjust my medication, we talk about the medications I'm taking and any other medications he is considering. I feel involved in my care. He's not offended by questions like when I ask him about a drug I saw on TV. He is aware of prescription costs and will provide samples if he has them. Additionally, if your insurance requires mail order, he'll write one prescription for filling immediately and one to mail in for larger supply and refills.
Office staff: 1 person.
She is friendly without being too friendly, and she’s helpful. She calls to remind me of my appointments. If I leave a message, it is returned that same day. She talks with Dr. Ali, then calls me back that same day-- or tells me if it will be the next day and why.
