Worst doctor I've ever encountered. No sense of obligation or responsibility towards his patients. Lacks patient rapport and is not skilled in his specialty. Reconstructed my ACL in 2003. Insisted on an allograft (I was 16 years old, healthy, and active in 4 sports) and would not perform autograft (much stronger and always recommended for young athletes--read studies). Being young and inexperienced, I trusted this doctor's best judgment. I re-tore the ACL less than 2 years later after exceeding rehab protocol and regaining full strength. Upon MRI confirmation of failure, he refused to operate again, saying he "doesn't do revisions". Dr. Kolessar left me stranded (as a result of his poor work) and didn't take responsibility or seem to care. I had my ACL repaired in 2004 by another surgeon (who actually took me... most Dr's don't clean up the messes of the negligent ones) and haven't had a problem since. Save yourself a lot of pain, time, and money and find a qualified ortho.

They never have that typical, annoying music playing here. If they do play music it is soothing and appropriate for the setting. They were easy to reach in an emergency. When I called they answered right away and I was so relieved to hear a friendly voice. One thing I love about them, is that they're always willing to ask for other qualified professionals' advice when they don't have an answer for my question. I never have to worry about them giving me a wrong answer just because they weren't willing to ask for help.
