This physician was taking care of my sister. When We first met him he explained the situation (which was terminal) and we appreciated the truth that was told to us. However, when my sister decided to get a second opinion, he started acting as if we had personally offended him and became rude. Rude is actually quite the understatement. After she became very ill, could no longer see, and she was aphasia, he says to her- "I told you so. If you went to a different physician, I told you, you would die sooner." If that doesn't tell you exactly how uncaring and truly horrific his soul must be, nothing will. Had you seen the look on my sister's face (who knew she was facing death), you would have seen how crushed she felt, how helpless she felt, how heart broken she was. I will never forgive him, and I will tell everyone I ever meet about him. Dr. Canute, I hope you read this and change how you speak to your patients, as a fellow provider myself, I can tell you, you need a lesson in empathy.

They barely gave me any information at all. I'm going to have to do my own research to get my questions answered. I would never refer any of my family and friends to go here. If I had know how terrible they were I never would have gone. I was very uncomfortable the entire time in Dr. Canute's presence. They left me completely alone for a long time and I became very nervous. I found this doctor to be condescending, rude and unecessarily cold and de-sensitized to catastrophic illnesses. I traveled to Boston and had much improved experiences. Syracuse is not a major medical center despite their advertising campaign.
