On the plus side, I have been using Dr. Shapiro since 2004 and happen to like him. Although he is a family practitioner when I probably need an internist, I have always found Dr. Shapiro to be caring, concerned - and thorough, which is why I stay with him. As far as doctor/patient relationship, I think we have a good one. This does not mean that I always agree with him, though. I usually let him know.

Also, it does not mean that there are not some negatives. I have, on occasion found some of his staff to be lacking, either in manners, customer service or common sense and sometimes, a bit under-educated. Since I am capable of dealing with these things and recognizing that everyone has a bad day, I will overlook a bump here and there. However, I have been known to leave a practice because the staff was either totally incompetent or just plain rude or nasty. I don't need to pay for that type of treatment - can get it for free almost any day of the week.

Tried to make this accurate and unbiased. Hope it helps the next person.
