I am currently 28 weeks (7 months) pregnant and looking of an OBGYN in NJ. I was looking to have a consultation with one of the doctors at the Women’s Healthcare Group. I called to setup the consultation and was told (multiple times, with a bad attitude) I HAD to transfer over all my medical information before I can be seen. As I informed them multiple times that “I will not be transferring anything over until I have decided on the doctor I want to see, that is why I am setting up a consultation.” After some back and forth they finally set up an appointment. However, I was then TOLD that I had to pay a co-pay for the visit. After speaking with my insurance company was assured that I was 100% covered and did not have to pay anything for a consultation, I informed them immediately which I then received a very condescending “well that’s good news for you.”

As I walked into the office I noticed two women at the front desk, one younger and one middle aged. The younger girl stared at me with a nasty look as I approached them. Once I gave them my name and informed them why I was there, I was met with a very nasty attitude (from the young girl) as they proceeded to tell me that my insurance company is wrong and I had to pay to see the doctor. They said because they were putting me in their system as a new patient. Once again I informed them that I am NOT a new patient that I am there to talk to a doctor to determine whether or not I wanted to be a patient, hence the consultation. I once again informed them that, as my insurance company noted, they need to process the claim as a consultation and not as a patient visit because I am not being examined. They once again forcefully (again, the attitude came more from the younger one) told me that my insurance company is wrong and I have to pay to see the doctor. I was told that if I didn’t like it to call the head nurse (manager) and speak with her. BTW I had called and left her a message in which she never returned. So in response to them in regards to calling the head nurse I told them that I would not chase someone that will not call me back, if she would like to speak with me they have my number.

I left!

The staff is very rude, excluding the middle aged woman at the desk that tried to help and asked me not to get upset as this was a very upsetting visit.

I have not met any of the doctors but according to the staff the doctor did not want to see me until I paid (again, something I am 100% covered for and did not need to pay anything).
I will not be going back there, for anything!

I had a bad feeling as soon as I called and was met with a bad attitude over the phone but I tried, only to get upset, get a headache and not see any doctors.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
