Teeth Whitening
Wes Bransford, DDS
There are many causes of discolored teeth. Namely, certain foods and tobacco tend to be the biggest culprits. Coffee, tea, red wine, and citrus foods can also contribute to tooth discoloration. If you don’t consume these products, it may be in your genetics, or even certain antibiotics you’re taking. Exposure to high levels of fluoride and tetracycline can cause internal tooth darkening as well. This happens because of changes in the enamel and dentin. All too often, it is difficult to avoid these factors in everyday life.
Although discolored teeth may not be harmful to your health, whitening services will definitely boost your self-image. With added confidence in your teeth, you will be comfortable smiling more often. Also, those around you will notice a subtle positive change while you experience a tremendous difference. Studies have shown that people who choose to smile more often have a better mood disposition.
