I am so sad to say my experience today was once again horrendous. I like Dr. Ammons (when I see him). I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment time for a simple cleaning with the new hygienist, Hailey. I never got to meet her. I sat in the waiting room along with several others who I'm sure also had set appointment times. As the minutes moved on, no response or recognition from anyone on the staff. Although, I did get to hear all about the new tables, cupboards, phones and a family trip to Shem Creek and what to do while there. I got frustrated of not being acknowledged at all. Let me say my appointment was scheduled after lunch, therefore I assumed they weren't working on other patients and running behind as the staff all came filing in with lunch in hand. I have a busy schedule as well. When I set an appointment with any medical professional I expect them to be on time. After waiting another 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment time and having my fill of the "local gossip", I left. Previously, I had prepared to change to another dentist because of the same problem with the hygienist John. When I received the email of a new hygienist joining "the family", I thought I would give it another try. From what I experienced today nothing has changed and I shall be moving to a new dentist. I have always enjoyed working with Dr. Ammons, but I am recently I am referred to a "secondary dentist" and sometimes a "second rate dentist" or hygienist. I have always recommended him in the past, but I can no longer in good conscious, recommend him at all. The great customer service that led me to him, is now long gone along with my favorite staff members. As my grandmother would say, "He has gotten too big for his britches".

I had my first visit to Ammons Dental by Design in the Summerville Office this past week. I was so pleased by the professionalism, kindness, and informative care that I received. I would highly recommend this wonderful group of people to all. I will start my treatment in June and will update all, but am absolutely certain that it will be a great experience.
