Two of my front teeth were root canaled many years ago. They essentially remain asymptomatic, except showing small residual apical infection on X-ray. Last December I saw Dr. Friedman for another reason. He talked me into having him re-do root canals on both teeth. He promised me 90% succcessful rate on each tooth. This was a very costly procedure ($2,800, let alone destroyed existing crown). However, six months after his re-treatment, I got two much bigger apical abscesses. I now face lossing the two front teeth altogether. I have to struggle for another $6,000 budget for implants. When I discussed with Dr. Friedman this morning, Dr. Friedman offers no even partial refund and no reasonable explaination. I ask myself if I should trust Dr. Friedman's judgement and skill or even his promise to begin with? Is such outcome within medically reasonable range? Dr. Friedman obviously fell into the lower one per cent of the spectrum by failure on two 90%-successful-rate procedures.
