To -lovesmyteeth......I'm gathering from your rather detailed description of your visit, that your decay was deep. When decay is deep, the dentist, no matter who it is, has to drill deeper to remove it. Xrays often do not show the depth of the smallest decay that could have gotten into the root of that tooth that caused you so much discomfort after the filling was placed. Think of it like putting a cork on a soda bottle When there was a hole, no matter how small, if there was an infection.....the decay could escape..... close it up, and BAM!, here comes the pain. It brews in there and causes swelling and OUCH! When fillings are placed, a bite check is surely done. If you were numb, perhaps the bite wasn't perfect. Advil to reduce swelling and discomfort and a call to Dr. Peters is what you should have done first instead of polling Fleetwood. Everyone has a story to tell. THIS is mine. Nope. I'm not related to Dr. Peters. Nope. I don't work there. Yep. I went to dental school. Yep. I go there.
