I will NEVER go to Dr. Gonta's Dentistry ever again. My son needed some baby teeth pulled. He had a bad experience with the awake sedation and nightmares afterward (I think they were about being restrained). When we went back to get caps and spacers put in my son resisted. I got up to hold him down and calm him (which works every time at the family dentist) but then the attendant got in his face and threatened to kick me out!!! Not only that but the caps they put on his teeth didn't stay on even though we diligently made sure he didn't eat sticky candy. My family dentist said she would replace one for $68 but suggested Dr. Gonta may do it for less or free because Dr. Gonta did the work. I took him back and asked if there would be a cost to have the cap glued back on and didn't get a straight answer. Afterward I was charged for $116!!! They fell out a second time but I will not go back again. I will mention that when we decided it was best to get my son's teeth pulled my family dentist DID NOT recommend Dr. Gonta. We chose to go there because it was closer for us. The waiting room is fun and cheerful with games and decorations and the kids leave with balloon animals and a bag of goodies but it is just a decoy to cover up frightening experiences and bad service.

I would NEVER take my child to this dentist office EVER!!! My child was in my opinion abused and I didn't get the complete story (if it is the complete story - since the office withheld some of the records)! He was put under conscious sedation and I was not allowed to go back with him to observe the procedure. What I found out in 2012 about this appointment in 2009 was that he was strapped down for part of the procedure until he was so combative they had to release him from the restraints. He was 7 1/2 and under sedation, why were the restraints needed and why wasn't I asked. My child is very phobic and doesn't close a bathroom door all the way and they decided to restrain him!!! Mind you I just found this out by getting copies of some of the records sent to his new dentist (some are still withheld). We left at our second visit which was for an attempt at a cleaning without any drugs. I immediately took my son and left when I went back because I heard my child crying and the hygenist was holding him down w/ one arm and then when I went back there she placed her hand over his mouth and told him he was not allowed to cry. Never in my life!!!!! This place needs to be shut down. I fear what other things have occurred to children under sedation. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE AND PASS THIS INFORMATION ALONG!!
