If you want to get good dental treatment avoid this place!!! I was a patient at Holistic Dental Center in Cary. The only reason I chose this place was because of one particular hygienist who is very good at what she does. The dentist “Dr. Macmillan” has multiple personalities. He can be nice to you before you commit to any kind of dental treatments.

Recently I needed to have one simple filling done in his office. It was the worst experience of my life!!! I regret ever coming here in the first place. The first filling wasn’t done properly. After several visits and unbearable pain Dr. Macmillan agreed to redo the filling for the second time. His bed side manner was atrocious. I wanted to discuss the procedure to be fully aware but he refused to answer and listen to any of my concerns.

He didn’t treat me with respect and dignity. He didn’t care for my tooth, rushed doing the procedure, didn’t even wear magnifying glasses for a better view the worst part he intentionally grinds the healthy structure of my tooth next to the filling. After the numbness wears off I called the office and told them that Dr. Macmillan didn’t fix the problem for the second time. After some days of going back and forth he wanted me to have a crown work done on my tooth. I told his receptionist that what he did was unethical, unprofessional in fact a malpractice and I requested for a refund.

When I finally went to his office to pick up my refund as well as a copy of my dental records, I found out that some of my treatment notes appeared to be missing. When I ask the whereabouts Dr. Macmillan came to me in a very aggressive manner, invaded my personal space acting like a total lunatic, threatening me with his fist and swung his arm with his index finger sticking out and told me to get out. I told him that he is unethical and immoral person and left the practice.

To make the long story short, I reported this incident to Cary police.

I wouldn't recommend him to anyone! He is unethical, immoral, unprofessional, bad bed side manner dentist. Don’t get fooled by his desperate advertisement! He is using “Holistic” to attract health conscious people mainly for marketing purposes.

I had never seen any state-of- the art dental equipment in his office. His dental fees are very expensive in the area. If you see any one of his ads he stated that” any material we placed in patient mouth can have a negative impact…” He also talked about the toxicity of mercury-amalgam filling. The saddest thing is that while he considers himself a “holistic” dentist he even doesn’t use BPA free composite material (tooth colored) filling in his office.

Dr. Macmillan is the most hypocrite dentist out there. He is no near to be called a holistic dentist. Don’t waste your time and money going to Holistic Dental Center. He is a nightmare!!!

I was very pleased with Dr. McMillian's courteous manner and interest in my dental concerns. I found him to be very thorough and detail oriented.
