I took my child to Dr. Hoffman and on the first visit, everyone but the Dr. seemed pleasant. I scheduled an appointment for my child to get what Dr. Hoffman called "caps" ( I later found that they were, in fact crowns). I asked the receptionist/billing lady if there would be any charges not covered by insurance before doing any work on my child, she said that the anaesthesia would be $40.00 because the insurance would not cover it, but that it was the ONLY charge. I paid the $40.00 and set up another appointment a week later. On the day of the next appointment she called to "inform you there is a $400.00 bill on your account for the last visit" claiming that the insurance company "just got back to her". She LIED to me when I asked previously, she had not even contacted the insurance company when she said the anaesthesia was the only charge. I called 3-4 times a day every day to try and speak witht the Dr. and she always refused. I got NO cooperation and to this day I am still in dispute on this bill. I can not even get Dr. Hoffman to call me to hear my side of the story because the receptionists are too busy covering their butts. This office is NOT professional at all. DO yourself a HUGE favor and go to Dr. Anderson in Gladstone! His office is EXCELLENT!
