This used to be the best oral surgeon practice in the Boston suburbs. Something has since changed. I went for a consultation in spring of 2016. I told Dr Stempien I had been on a drug "FOSAMAX +D". This drug in very rare cases has caused what is known as "Dead Jaw Syndrome" The prescribing Doctor of the drug told me it would be fine to go ahead and get the teeth extracted. I had not been on the drug for more than 5 months and off it for 3 months. Dr Stempien told me he would get back to me as to what he thought would be a safe waiting period after going off the drug.I kept calling his office telling the person answering his office phone the situation and every time I called she assured me that I would get a call-back about this. After months of calling them I just gave up. So as it stands they took my money for the consultation, refused to call me back and dumped me. I am wondering if this would be considered Medical Abandonment. I just don't understand what is going on with this practice and it's a shame because he had such a fine reputation in his field.
