I told her that I did not want chemotherapy due to a coexisting medical condition and my fears that it could be almost fatal for me. She got angry and blamed my attitude. She did not explain the benefits of her prescribed treatment except to say that "it's the standard treatment." She showed me pamphlets to back up that assertion. She treated me in a cavalier, condescending manner.
It is very stressful to dicuss cancer treatment. I began to cry and she did not bat an eyelash.
I usually have really good experiences with doctors. I don't think physicians like her should be tolerated by the patient community. She did spend a lot of time with me, but that masked the fact that she didn't listen to what I had to say. I could barely get questions out. I had written some down, and she pooh poohed half of what I said.
