The first time I went I arrived early (as I always do for appointments in case I can start earlier) and had to wait until 25 minutes after my appointment officially started until I was called in. I wasn't too bothered by the tardiness though since they had interesting Time magazines (I was reading one about the 100th anniversary of the Titanic). They Hygienist was incredibly friendly. We talked and got along great. She conducted the x-rays and the teeth cleaning, which went over well, except that they found two cavities. At this point I was pleased with the office...until I meet the actual dentist (John James). He was the rudest 'professional' I have ever met. He asked me a few questions about my education (I'm an economics major at Purdue University) and then preceded to insult me about it. The appointment ended soon after that, and another appointment was made to get the fillings. I was annoyed at how rude he was, but felt that it was worth the ridicule if he was a great dentist and would do my fillings well. (I have a great dentist back home, but its a long trip and I can't do it during the school year, so I had to pick a dentist around the Purdue area.) But when the next appointment came, the dentist (John James) did not even do the fillings, a hygienist did. The only reason I came to this dentistry in the first place was off of his credentials, and he wasn't even the one to do the fillings. I realize that some dentist offices do this, but by the one that I went to back home the actual dentist did all of the actual dental work except for the cleanings and prepping. So the hygienist messed up the filling while she was doing it, and John had to come and 'fix it.' Its been almost two months later and the area in which they conducted the filling still hurts (and not like how a cavity hurts...its like a constant toothache, foods and drinks are irrelevant. If I brush too hard or floss at all in the area it bleeds a lot.) I will be asking them for my x-rays so that I can go to my good dentist back home and have them look at it and fix whatever is wrong. I would not recommend this dentistry to anyone.
