My daughter had seen Nicole previously and was told that she would replace her IUD. Nicole entered the room and had not reviewed my daughters file and asked why she wanted her IUD replaced. My daughter explained to her their prior discussion and Nicole told her no she would not change her IUD. This did not align with the prior conversations she had engaged in with her. Additionally Nicole wanted to know why she is on birth control and an IUD. My daughter told her that she is the one that put her on the birth control. She then reviewed her notes and said, yes, I did I see that now. My daughter (having other medical concerns that have not been addressed by other doctors) became frustrated and began to cry. She took a day from college to get this done and now is being told she just wasted time and money that she does not have. Nicole asked her if she is seeing someone for therapy as she didin't understand why she is crying. Before asking someone this question perhaps put yourself in this young ladies shoes and understand your patient and the fact that she is only 19 and has other medical issues that she is being passed from one doctor to another. She is frustrated with doctors and tired of missing school to yet again be told no to something that had previously been discussed with Nicole and was told yes.

Nicole should take some time with her patient and ask questions before setting up follow-up appointments and should read a patients chart before entering the room. She needs to understand people only get so many days off work and or school to take care of personal matters and she just wasted my daughters day.
