I adored Dr. Kasper when we first met and we landed on a surgical plan in May. We talked about surgery taking place in late July or August due to scheduling concerns. I left feeling very heard and supported - she had been a referral from a few trusted acquaintances. It is now the end of July and I was called today to be told that my surgery won't be until October.

Here's my issue with this: 1. admin staff have been absolutely unhelpful and simply uncaring when I have called to get updates (people do have lives that they need to take care of alongside the complexities of surgery) 2. I had to call WEEKLY until I finally spoke to someone who said they would personally reach out to ensure someone got back to me with a date (Lisa? she deserves a raise, absolute gem of a human) 3. when I called, I was dismissed and talked to like I was crazy for asking about a surgery date (I am a full time, working mom, in A LOT of pain).

I just can't wrap my mind around why it would take that much persistence on my end to finally get a surgery date that is 6 months from initial appointment. Instead of telling me that it would be in August (multiple times), they should have been up front that it could be pushed out and I could have looked for another provider. I'm super nervous about this surgery now and wondering if I made the right decision.

I don't know at this point if I would refer people here; I chose this doctor because of her willingness to let me try a VBAC, but they will only let you go until 41 weeks until a c-section unless labor starts, and right now it doesn't look like that will happen for me. I felt at the very beginning that I really liked Dr. Kasper and was so happy with her, but as the pregnancy has progressed, I feel like she has become gradually less caring and sympathetic (and I am not a problem patient - my husband is a doctor so I am very realistic, down-to-earth, knowledgeable about options and statistics, and not hoping for anything beyond what is reasonable and normal in patient care).
