A diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Atkins has advanced training in minimally invasive surgery, and is one of a few gynecologists in the DeKalb-Sycamore area trained in the daVinci® Robotic Surgery System. She is a member of the AAGL, “the premiere professional organization advancing minimally invasive gynecology worldwide.”
Dr. Atkins has been in private practice for the last 10 years, treating the patients of the Fox Valley and Sycamore-DeKalb areas. She is constantly studying and training to ensure the she is able to provide the most advanced care for women. While not caring for her patients, Dr. Atkins keeps busy with her husband, Dr. Thomas Atkins, an orthopedic surgeon at Fox Valley Orthopedics, and their two children. She is an avid runner and horseback rider, and enjoys reading and travel.

Meera Atkins, MD, FACOG is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology. She received her BS from Youngstown State University where she graduated cum laude. She received her Doctor of Medicine at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. Moving to Chicago, Dr. Atkins did her residency at the University of Illinois-Chicago where she received many awards, including one from the Society of Laparo-Endoscopic Surgeons.A diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
