II don't like this doctor. I wrote "sensitive to drugs" across the drug section, yet he apparently told his assistant to put two s of cyclogyl, a longer acting and stronger dilation , in both my eyes because they are brown. He also had an undertow of irritability and impatience. My eyes stayed dilated for THREE days, and now I have additional floaters. I called my previous opthalmologist in NY and they said they never use cyclogyl unless they are having trouble dilating eyes. I guess this guy's attitude is, "Assume a brown eye will bind more of the solution, give a double dose of s, and use a stronger longer acting so I don't have to waste my time." Instead of "first do no harm", and using the typical shorter acting , and only using a stronger one if you're having trouble. Add to that the fact that he noted that although the risk of complications from cataract surgery is very low, he wanted to tell me now, and would remind me again later, that there is indeed a risk. He said he doesn't want a patient coming to him afterwards and saying, You didn't tell me something could go wrong....Strange to bring this up so soon, and in an annoyed tone. I would never go to this guy for surgery anyway.
