Dr. Cohen has been in Retina practice since 1994. He was born in New York. He graduated with honors from Harvard College in Mathematics and completed his medical training at Harvard Medical School. He did an internship at Brown University and an Ophthalmology residency at University of California, Davis. He then completed two years of Retina fellowship training at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami. He is a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of South Florida and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Cohen has clinics in our Clearwater and St. Petersburg offices. He performs surgery at Suncoast and All Children's Hospitals as well as St. Anthony Surgery Center. He has a special interest in medical retina (macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy), pediatric retina and ocular oncology.
Dr. Cohen is a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of South Florida School of Medicine. He was chosen by the ophthalmology residents for the David D. Donaldson, MD Clinical Faculty Teaching Award in 2011. He facilitates a monthly retina conference for the residents in the 0phthalmology program.
Dr. Cohen has over 60 published papers and abstracts in peer reviewed journals. He has spoken at national and international Retina meetings.
