If I could I would give no stars. My pregnancy went fine and prenatal visits were fine. The office staff is lovely and I never had a problem with them. I went in on my due date and my doctor was concerned that I was not dilated or ready to deliver. He had been telling me during the last trimester that I was having a big baby and he was concerned. So he decided to induce me. I went into the hospital that night and was given a drug on my cervix that I later realized was only FDA approved for heartburn. It has a history of causing bad labor. I had stacked contractions (no break) without dilating for hours. I was given an epidural and they tried to stop my labor with Trebutaline. My blood pressure and the baby's were all over the place and I could see the nurse's concern. All of this started at about 7 am. I was scheduled for an emergency c-section at 12. I was in the OR prepped and ready and the nurses and anesthesiologist were looking out the window for the doctor. My mom overheard them talking out side the operating room as she was around the corner. Both the baby and I were not doing well and they were on the phone trying to get a hold of the doctor because he was late. He arrived at 12:30, a half hour late for my emergency c-section. Luckily my daughter was born and ended up being healthy, 5 minutes later. She did need a bit of help to start breathing but she is a strong one! She was 7 lbs 3 oz, under average, NOT a big baby. I had pain in my belly for years until I had my second and saw another doctor who also performed a c-section. He was able to clean up a lot of the scar tissue and the next day I had less pain than I did in previous years! The day after Dr. Hirsch did my c-section he called me in the hospital to check on me. He told me that I could remove my bandage. I was a bit stunned by that. I asked if this was something the nurses could do and he said that was fine. I felt it was very inappropriate to call and ask me to remove the bandage. He should have come to the hospital to check on me, especially given how much distress I was in the day before. I saw him once postop in the hospital in order to discharge me. The clincher for me was when I had gone in for one of my follow up appointments, he insisted I use some estrogen cream vaginally because I needed to start having sex again in order to please my husband. I was blown away. Sex was never a problem with us and this was never discussed. I thought he was my doctor?
