During my first few visits with Dr. Harwer my opinion of her was rather good. Although I was a little uncomfortable with her no-nonsense rapid approach, her diagnoses and recommended treatments helped me a lot. For that I am very grateful. However, when I developed a more serious health condition(abnormally high triglycerides), I was greatly disappointed to find she would not spend any more than the usual 5minutes she typically gave me, especially after she told me I would die if I did not take the drug she prescribed( a statin). During that visit she never sat down and I had to follow her out the room and into the hall to get most of the information I received. On my next and final visit I respectfully told her that I thought I should have more time to discuss my health condition with her. She replied by saying that my insurance(medical) did not pay her enough and that I should basically just be thankful to do what she recommended and find the answers to my questions online. When I said I thought she was being extremely unprofessional, she told me to leave and not come back. Can you imagine being told by your primary care doctor, of all people, to "not come back?' At first, I was shocked, so much so, that I just stood in the waiting area as the staff, who didnt seem surprised, went about their business. By the way, I have nothing but good things to say about them. Now, I am so upset by what happened that I have decided to contact medical and file a formal complaint.
Well, if you are deciding whether to choose Dr. Harwer as your doctor, I strongly recommend you consider the above very carefully(of course, consider every source you find) And if you personally know Dr. Harwer, then you know exactly what I am talking about.
