Without any test or evaluative procedures, on my third visit Barbara Newlon D.O. irresponsibly and erroneously diagnosed me as having cancer symptoms!
I went to Barbara Newlon with the complaint that I was having aching in my hip when I got out of bed in the morning, but was fine once I got moving. She told me she could relieve the problem. During the session I told her that the manipulation she doing was causing pain to travel down my right thigh. She said it would pass.
After her session I had continual pain running down my thigh. I called her and she told me I should come in for another session. In the second session she said she had corrected the problem and that the cause of it was a slip I had taken 5-6 weeks before I came to her for the first session. I told her that seemed unlikely since the pain in my thigh was initiated by her manipulation of my pelvis and I had told her so at the time.
I had had no pain or problem from the earlier slip. It was minor and 5-6 weeks had passed without any discomfort or other repercussions. She assured me that she had aligned the energy so the pain should disappear in a day or two. It did not dissipate at all and I had to go back a third time.
In that third session Barbara Newlon told me, without tests or evaluations of any sort, that my problem looked like cancer. I was appalled. Two days later I went to see a doctor who specializes in sports medicine. He adjusted my spine, pelvis, knees and feet. I have had no pain since that adjustment. He said the assertion that I had the symptoms of a cancer patient was entirely unfounded and inexcusable.
