Pinched nerve over one year. Horrible pain and never asked for pain meds. Sent me for lumbar shots which helped a little. Sent me to physical therapy and I asked for pain meds for therapy only to get through it and was denied. Finally after being in horrible pain for over one year from ruptured discs surgery is done. L4,L5 through S1. Doctor makes surgical patients sign agreements and agreement says pain meds will be provided for three months after surgery and after three months pain will be evaluated. Right after surgery I was given fifty percocets to last two weeks. At two week follow up I got one month of pain meds. My six week follow up was changed to so it ended up being an eight week follow up. So I had to be in pain by cutting back on pain meds to make them last. Physical therapy is very painful and takes two days for pain to subside enough before I can get up again to walk. Agony! I see doctor and tell him symptoms and physical therapy is painful and walking is painful. Baldwin asked if I needed more pain meds. I said yes. He said I should not have any pain and would not give me any. He had disgusted look on his face. I have a witness. I have never abused any thing, don't even drink or smoke.
I never got follow up check day after surgery as is customary. Baldwin lied about providing pain relief for three months after surgery. As a neurosurgeon he should know better. I would bet my life that when Baldwin has his back surgery he got plenty of pain relief, but denies some of his patients pain relief. It has been proven that healing is slower if pain is not managed. I am cancelling physical therapy and not going back to Baldwin. I don't appreciate being called a liar about anything especially surgical pain. We are all different.

Advice: record your doctor visits. I am after this horrible experience. Don't use this surgeon. I am in tears.
