I am a practicing ophthalmologist at the Maryland Vision Institute (MVI) with four locations in western Maryland and West Virginia. MVI is a large practice with several talented eye doctors. We have state of the art diagnostic and surgical equipment and are always up to date with our knowledge and skills. We have our own nurses, technicians, anesthesiologist and surgical center- specializing exclusively on eye care and eye surgery. Upon graduation from high school in Buffalo NY (Calasantius Preparatory School for gifted children) in 1981, I moved to Durham NC, to study biology at Duke University, where I earned my bachelor of science graduating Cum Laude in 1985. For the next two years, I pursued graduate studies in pathology at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo NY. I then attended the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at SUNY Buffalo (now Jacobs School of Medicine), and obtained my MD with the honor of Magna Cum Laude. I then transitioned to the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, where I completed my internship in internal medicine. Following that, I fulfilled my residency in ophthalmology at The Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in NYC. I attained the honor of Chief Resident during my final year of training. Concurrent with my residency, I took a series of short courses in postgraduate specialties, including the Lancaster Course in Ophthalmology at Colby College, rotations in uveitis at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, an ocular oncology clinic at Long Island College Hospital, and an ophthalmic pathology course sponsored by the AFIP at Georgetown University Medical Center. I then worked at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in NYC. During this time I was also an attending doctor on staff to train and supervise ophthalmology residents for three years at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center. In 1998, I moved to southern Maryland, and joined Southern Maryland Ophthalmology. With my associate Dr. Edward C. Clark, we opened up the Breton Bay Optical LLC and the Leonardtown branch of Southern Maryland Ophthalmology. After 14 yrs, I relocated with my daughters to Western Maryland to marry my childhood friend Lou (a Veterinary Pathologist and an Army Officer) and I now have the honor of working at the Maryland Vision Institute. We enjoy our blended family of 5 children and many pets. I offer medical and surgical care of the eye at Maryland Vision Institute and I have been volunteering for Eye Care America since 2000 (an award winning public service program providing eye exams and surgery for the needy with special attention to our seniors). I am very active in the local healthcare community and support our local hospital. In addition to having memberships to several academic societies, I have been a presenter at medical meetings, and have supervised and taught ophthalmology residents in hospital settings, and I teach medical and premedical students in clinic.

I went to Kinga Michelle Huzella (Tibold), M.D. at the Frederick office of the Maryland Vision Institute; she is an exceptional ophthalmologist who made my visit outstanding.
Dr. Huzella's professionalism and attention to detail during my eye examination were impressive. She took the time to explain each step thoroughly, which made me feel comfortable and informed throughout the process. Her diagnostic skills were evident, and I felt very confident in her ability to identify and address my specific issue. I also greatly appreciated her personalized approach; she provided tailored recommendations based on my individual needs and took the time to educate me on maintaining my eye health.
I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Huzella to anyone seeking a skilled and empathetic ophthalmologist.
Easily one of the best experiences my boyfriend and I have had with a doctor and practice. Everyone is so personable, so professional, and Dr. Huzella is one of a kind. She is patient, kind, and cares thoroughly for each patient. Would highly recommend Dr. Huzella, as well as Maryland Vision Institute, for all of your ocular health needs!
