I was very disapointed with this doctor, had seen him when I was in my teens and my parents were not pleased with him 15 years ago either. I didn't mind the hour wait but when he hands me a sheet of foods to avoid I had hoped he would have been able to answer a few of my questions regarding some of them, to my dismay, my questions were brushed aside, i was told to just stay away from the offending foods, apparently he did not know the answers or he was unfamaliar with the questions, at one point, joking to me to ask his health conscious daughter as she would know about chocholate processed without alkali. I am petite young person who is taking blood pressure meds and dr birkmann doubled (told me to triple at any time the headaches begin to come back) my daily migraine prevention medication, he assured me that this would be ok, and would cause no problem as long as i could tolerate the tingeling in my fingers. After a week I noticed my bp drop as I check it every evening, my nurse at my other doctors office told me that the medication dr birkmann doubled can lower bp and that is probably why my bp had gone down, this is concerning as he mentioned nothing to me of this being a possibility in the 10 minute office visit I had with him. If you are looking for a neurologist I would look elswhere, Im sure there are better doctors in Lincoln than this man, sorry.
