Dr. Harkins saved my life when I delivered my son Matthew on September 11th, 1980. I had a posterior presentation with hypertetanic uterus and cephalopelvic disproportion (CPD) with horrible back labor. Then my placenta began to abupt, and he did an emergency csection. The crash anesthesia made me have laryngospasms so my airway obstructed and I respiratory arrested as they extubated me, and I began to hemorrhage. In the middle of all this Dr. Harkins was notified that his father, elsewhere in Wisconsin, was having a heart attack.
So tonight I was reflecting on all this and wanted to drop him a line to thank him, from Linda. Hal, Matthew, and Ruth Courtice and my sister Laura DeCaluwe who was present at St Joes in Marshfield when all of this happened.

This is one of the friendliest and most welcoming offices I've ever visited. They put in the extra effort to make me feel valued and important. They go out of their way to make everyone feel equally respected and cared for. I've seen client favoritism at some of the other places I've been, and I really appreciate the extra effort they make to avoid that here. They were so kind and attentive to me. I didn't have to worry about them arguing with me, or contradicting what I had to say, which has been a problem for me at other places. I love how much attention to detail they show. They are always so careful and meticulous. I never have to worry about them making a mistake or forgetting something. I will absolutely return. I had an amazing experience, and they were by far the best I've ever seen.
