Dr. Lischwe has his medical assistant call patients and inform them of their devastating diagnosis. It doesn't matter if his medical assistant is unable to answer questions or explain the deadly diagnosis. Dr. Lischwe is too BUSY to call patients himself and talk to them. When I spoke to his office manager about this, she was rude, condescending and stated Dr. Lischwe ALWAYS has his medical assistant do the calling to tell patients their diagnosis, no matter how bad it is. It's their way of making sure patients "follow up" with them. The best part is, Dr. Lischwe wasn't the doctor that performed the tests. The specialist was supposed to call, not the medical assistant. Dr. Lischwe is uncaring, unprofessional and has POOR bedside manner. If you're looking for a caring doctor that is willing to take the time to talk to patients, then Dr. Lischwe is NOT for you!!! If you're looking for a doctor that is uncaring, unethical and refuses to accept responsibility for informing and explaining a deadly disease to patients then Dr. Lischwe and his unprofessional staff fits perfectly.

I first selected Dr. Lischwe to be my physician after he saw my young son when our regular doctor was unavailable and I was very impressed. Since then I asked him to and he became my parents' doctor throughout both of their final illnesses. His commitment to pain management, willingness to travel to see my mother in her long-term care facility and thoroughness were "off the chart." I am always surprised at how much time he takes (compared to other doctors) with me and every member of my family and how he inquires into various health related aspects of lifestyle and then remembers details from one visit to the next. Dr. Lischwe has been our family doctor for more than ten years and some years ago, when he moved from his former practice to Boulder Medical we moved along with him. From pediatrics to palliative end-of-life care to dive medicine to the complications of care during international travel, Dr. Lischwe has been outstanding.
