love this place best for eye care

My family sees Dr. Mescher and we all love him! Helped ease my son into contacts at age 12 and made the process very comfortable. Takes time wth his patients and explains what and why he is doing it thoroughly. Staff is great and even better, they seem to be well treated and like their job. I used to take my son as well as myself to an eye doctor a few miles away from here. The town name starts with a 'C'. I thought the doctorthere was very arrogant and short. At that time I hadn't taken my son (who was in 2nd grade) to anyone else so I didn't know what to expect. I immediatley got the feeling the doctor didn't like talking with people very much. One day I walked in to get my son's glasses fixed and the secretary was on the phone with someone who was making her very upset. She was crying and from what I could hear, not get a word in edgewise. She kept trying to talk but was cut off by the loud person on the other end. She had a hard time even telling him there was a customer in the store. Finally after waiting for a few minutes for her attention (I pretended to shop and look for glasses this whole time but the place is small so I could see and hear her.) she got off the phone and wiped her eyes and came in to ask how she could help me. I said, "My goodness, sorry to ease drop but no one shouldn't let that person be upseting you like that. Just blow them off. Was that your boss?" She didn't want to tell me but because I had guessed it right she gave the answer away by her look. Her eyes were watery despite her effort of trying to breathe and look professional. Her voice was a bit shakey but I told her, "That was Dr. _ _ _ _ _ _? What a terrible boss! He was so hard on you. If he was here I wouldn't be able to help myself I would have hollered at him. He has no business cutting you off like that, you couldn't even finish your sentence." She maintained her professionalism by neither agreeing or disagreeing with me, but gave me a small smile and said , "Thank you." After that day I was absolutely disgusted that a boss would treat his staff like that. I gathered it wasn't the first time and that he temper that was known by the staff. I always wondered why I saw different receptionists in a short few years there. I started to take my son to Dr. Mescher in Hibbing. He is fantastic and I wish I would have started with him from the beginning, for me and my son. He treats each patient like you are his only patient. My 13 year old generally doesn't like going to the doctor unless he's very sick, but he has no whining or negative comments for me when it is time for his eye appointment. He goes happily and willingly. That says alot when you are talking about a stubborn 13 year old.
