My husband and I went to Dr. Rosenbloom for marriage counseling. I chose this therapist based on his education and experience but I knew nothing else about him. He used a lecture type style for our sessions that didn't work for us. It was easy to tune out and repetitive.

On the third visit I told the Dr. that "it wasn't working" and he agreed but his style didn't change. I would expect a good therapist to morph his technique to the individual he was serving. We continued to see the therapist for several more sessions, hoping to get something useful; we didn't.

I had some very serious complaints about my relationship with my husband. I think I was very specific about those complaints. One complaint that I took to dr. Rosenbloom was how my husband blames me for EVERYTHING and that can be emotionally abusive after years of hearing it. During our sessions I often times had to point out the accusations to bring attention to them. Also, my husband would at times lie to the therapist. I would point this out too because that was another issue that we were having in our marriage. Both problems were approached as "communication" issues. I don't feel the therapist explored the reasons behind the accusations and lies. We treated every weekly problem with a bandaid. The third, and most important problem we are having, wasn't really talked about. I am not going into detail here, but we pulled out of counseling when it was clear these techniques were not working for us.

There was some contradictory advice given. We went to Dr. Rosenbloom to try to save our marriage but on about three occasions he said something like maybe my husband and I should just divorce, "..:but that's not what I'm saying to do, do you know what I mean?". Actually, no I didn't understand that at all. This was a 32 year relationship and he seemed to treat it pretty casually. My husband said that the Dr. said some things to him about me that have not helped our marriage. I wasn't there but what my husband repeated back to me has, for sure, driven an even bigger wedge between us.

I had a hard time keeping eye contact with Dr. Rosenbloom because his eyes tended to "wonder" to my chest area. I don't think he is aware he does it but it made me feel uncomfortable.

Our overall experience was poor and even though I am not a weak minded person, I don't know if can handle the stress of repeating our story to another therapist.

I am a single mother with a 9 year old girl who has been in a horrific custody battle now for almost 2 years. I was severely abused by my x husband. Since I didn't tell my story in detail until recently I can't proceed very much with any charges because it’s after our 2005 divorce. During my evaluation with Dr. Ray Rosenbloom, he was acidic in his personality at times to me and was VERY insensitive when I had to talk about abuse and pain that I had buried for years. We did three evaluations for my X my child and myself. His intakes on facts are incorrect. He overcharged me in the amount of double from what he quoted. Safe place in Austin has warned me that the guardian ad litem in my case and this mental health professional are in bed with each other and DO NOT trust a single one. They are only in this for billable hours and the tragedy is that my daughter has suffered tremendously through out because they refuse to acknowledge a pleading mother’s voice to listen to this 9 year old's story. Her father has no history of interest, he is a pathological liar and now that my child has reported that her paternal grandmother has given her fears and it makes her extra afraid to ride her bike, swim and general "fun" activities. My X’s parents have unloaded their millions, hiding behind my child’s father…and have unleashed their wrath on me due to their embarrassment and their mission to turn the tables on this single mother and destroy my life. I have a low $40k salary this year and they have poured thousands of dollars into their high profile attorney to try and take me out. My x and his parents fabricated and reported a false claim to CPS accusing me of choking my child. After a 3 month investigation it came out completely false. The CPS case working showed a huge amount of concern while at my house and told me this was so false and so unnecessary that she would immediately file felony charges against my X if he ever attempted to make a false claim again. She told me that it was clear that I was the parent that was healthy and 100% involved with my child – not him. This mental health professional should NOT be in practice. Dr. Rosenbloom could have helped with an intervention but instead he continued NOT validate the truth that was so obvious and to delay the release of these evaluations because I could not pay my balance that he surprised me with one week prior to releasing them. He quoted me $ 1,500.00 for my evaluation and $ 600 for my daughters. He turned around and told me that my portion I owed was double and that I owed another $ 600 on top of already what I had paid for my child. I had to file bankruptcy because of all the fierce greed that encompasses this team of so-called professionals. They only looked at this an opportunity for a bank roll at the expense of me and my daughter. You have a lethal combination when you combine mental illness from my x and my in-laws with money and an unethical attorney and these unethical mental health professionals. These mental health and guardian ad litem are supposedly here to help and protect children? I am not finished with my story…there is so much more……one day God will be the judge and I don’t need to worry about their punishment. Thank you for reading this. Sorry for the typos they don’t have spell check on here. Good Day!
