The Institute of Interdisciplinary Yoga Studies (IIYS) was established in 2001, registered with Yoga Alliance at the 200 and 500-hour levels, offering the only comprehensive, interdisciplinary yoga teacher training program at that time in the nation. The founder and director of the program Renee DeTar E-RYT 500 is a seasoned master teacher with over 35 years of practice and teaching experience. She created the curriculum to be fulfilled in modules in the early years. But now, with the fast pace of our lives, feels that the experience of a total immersion can be life changing and nurturing as well as an effective and productive way to complete yoga certification. The program is run as an intensive immersion experience so you can remove yourself from your everyday schedule and apply yourself fully to living and breathing yoga for the duration of the retreat, with others on the same path.
More than 1000 teachers have graduated from the program in the United States, with many more on the horizon. Renee loves offering the trainings in some of the most beautiful and invigorating places in the world. You will be nurtured, fed in the most unbelievable settings while you learn to teach yoga and take the journey within.
