I was referred to Dr. Matsunaga by a coworker after cracking a tooth. I went to see Dr. Matsunaga for the first time on 12/05/2019 for an oral exam and to fix my cracked tooth. I was initially told during the intake that they would be able to fix my tooth. After the exam, Dr. Matsunaga let me know that i would need a root canal in one tooth, a filling and i would need to have the cracked tooth pulled by an oral surgeon. Dr. Matsunaga stated he would make these referrals for me, but only gave me a referral to get a root canal and not a referral to have my cracked tooth extracted. Dr. Matsunaga's office also made a follow up appointment for me to come back and get my tooth filled. On December 18th, 2019 i got a root canal by the office Dr. Matsunaga referred me to, and i also got a tooth extraction after visiting an oral surgeon, who told me that my cracked tooth was infected. Something Dr. Matsunaga never mentioned. Dr. Matsunaga told me that he would deal with the cracked tooth last, even though it was infected and required antibiotics. On December 26th, 2019, I went back to Dr. Matsunaga for a filling on one of my teeth. Before beginning the procedure I notified Dr. matsunaga that I had the root canal he referred me for and that i found an oral surgeon to do the tooth extraction, so he was aware of those areas in my mouth. During the process of giving me a filling, Dr. Matsunaga and his assistant knocked out half of my tooth that had just received a root canal. The tooth they were working on was on my top right and the tooth they knocked out was on my bottom left. Instead of apologizing, Dr. Matsunaga blamed me for my tooth coming out. On December 30th, 2019 I called Dr. Matsunaga's office for a breakdown of what was billed to my insurance and was notified that on December 5th, 2019 my insurance was billed for an extra xray without being notified that they were doing an extra xray. I then asked the receptionist for a break down of the bill from December 26th, to which she notified me that i was billed for a 3 surface filling, when i was only told that i needed a 1 surface filling. When i asked why i wasnt notified that i would be getting a 3 surface filling and the price before that the receptionist accused me of not wanting to pay my bill and hung up in my face. I called back and spoke to Dr. Matsunaga who was also very rude and condescending and told me that i did not deserve an apology for the customer service or for him knocking my tooth out of my mouth. This office never gave me a bill to sign or a break down and were very sneaky about what they were billing to my insurance. Also, the filling he gave me left hard residue between three of my teeth. I don't understand why Dr. Matsunaga and staff believe they can treat clients this way.
