THE WORST! This guy claims to be the "best kept secret in Hollywood" and should remain the best kept secret. His ego has to have its own chair in his office. He shows all of his celebs in silver frames and if you do not act impressed, he pouts.

During my process with Bobby Rifkin you must call him "genius" or he will stop working until you do.

He does not tell you what you are getting for your money but tells you that you have to trust that he knows what he is doing. He did not tell me what the final look would be but when it was done he acted as if I shuold have asked or known.

His work is very sloppy including spraying me with water all over and up my nose. He grinds and pieces fly all over the room and on your face and clothes.

Now for the punch line. He is not a man of his word. We negotiated his fee down from $80,000 to $30,000 because I am unemployed and according to him as a favor to my referring dentist (whose name he could not remember at the time ... ah, your dentist in Oakland!) What really was had to do with the poor economy and he needed patients. Part of the deal was also to give a "gift" ... non-claimed income ... to his children from my baseball collection. I could have given him anything but I decided to give him something of great worth ... an autographed baseball from the 1953 National League All Stars including Jackie Robinson and Roy Campanella. The value of things like these are subject to the economy and the market. Bobby and his expert decided is was not as valuable as he thought it should be. How do you put a value on a "gift".

We discussed these and other matters and agreed that the $30,000 and the baseball would be "payment in full" for all work and services.

Three days later he had "remorse" and wanted more money or he would not do further work on me. I refused to pay his "blackmail" and he refused to do any more work.

After three months one of the veneers chipped and after several calls and emails he refused to stand behind his work and workmanship of his employee who made the tooth. Regarless of the disagreement, the dentist is obligated to stand behind his work but Robert Rifkin would not. Rather, he acted like the spoiled child that he is.

With this many problems I would recommend you stay away from a dentist that overcharges and underdelivers while failing to make right the wrong he has done.

My new dentist in San Francisco said these 20 teeth would have cost between $24,000 and $30,000 ... no baseball included.
