I learned this information from Beatrice Waight. A wonderful woman who was a midwife, herbalist, healer and community activist. Ms. Beatrice lived in Belize, CA. She was of Mayan descent and her teachings were both indigenous and cosmopolitan, as most indigenous wisdoms are.
